Queen's Birthday long weekend June 7-9 is Winter Wine Weekend. There are lots of reasons to visit us on that weekend here on our beautiful Mornington Peninsula:
Provincial style lunch at ‘Heronswood’
with Winbirra wines
Sunday June 8: 12.30-3.30pm.
This year Winbirra is joining with The Diggers Club at ‘Heronswood’ to celebrate Winter Wine Weekend.
This stunning National Trust registered property is nestled on the
lower slopes of Arthurs Seat and is justly famous for its lush garden
featuring rare plants both edible and decorative. The Heronswood Café
Chef will match Winbirra wines to dishes featuring vegetables grown
from the Diggers rare seeds collection. This will be a ‘tutored’ meal
with Clive Blazey from Diggers (pictured) and Marshal Caffyn from Winbirra.
Included is a tour of the production garden. Don’t miss this unique
event. Ring now on 5984 7900 and quote ‘DWLU’. Price of $80p/p includes
entry to the famous Heronswood gardens.
Collect tickets from The Diggers Club retail shop.
Discover Viognier at the Cellar Door
A warm welcome each day of the long weekend: 11am-5pm.
Cosy up to our log fire whilst you try our award winning Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Viognier and Rosé.
Could Viognier be the 'thinking person’s Pinot Gris'?
To help you make your decision we are providing a limited number of
vertical tastings ( 2005, 2006 & 2007) matched with a specially
selected cheese platter. $15 per person. Home made cakes and organic
tea and coffee will also help ward off the winter chills.
Winbirra will also be represented at the Red Hill Showgrounds for the
major annual gathering of peninsula wineries . . . Visit the
Mornington Peninsula Vignerons website for details of this and the many other events over the Winter Wine Weekend.
