Winbirra Pinot Wins Gold
We are proud to announce that our Pinot Noir 2006 won a gold medal at the 2008 Winewise Small Vignerons Awards and was only a whisker behind the trophy winner.
The judging panel was made up of James Halliday, Len Sorbello and Dave Pearce. Here is what they had to say:
"This is another outstanding pinot with a touch of spice. The wine has intensity of aroma and flavour in the black cherry spectrum, a glorious velvey texture and a striking elegance. The long finish rounds out a very fine wine - cellar for the next three years."
The Brigadier's Daughter Brut Cuvee 2007
Since we released our first sparkling wine in October, it has proved very popular even with those who say they don't normally like champagne. Pale pink/gold in colour with a plethora of fine bubbles this sparkling is unusual in that it is made predominately from pinot meunier grapes. The remainder consists of 35% chardonnay (from Flinders) and just 5% pinot noir.
New opening hours in 2009
From next year our cellar door will be open every weekend as well as public holidays and by appointment for groups of 8 or more. The hours remain the same, 11am to 5pm. Antipasto platters, cake and tea and coffee will be available
